so very tired...

i some how just plain old wore myself out today. not sure how. sure i cleaned, cooked, cut, played, folded, and a meriad of other things. but thats all in a day's work. i might be a little on the sad side. husband has been gone for a week and is currently en route to japan. i always tend to worry when he travels. habbit. and then, i get sad when i worry and tired when i get sad. vicious cycle, but minor. i hope to make it an early night tonight. i hope.

on an up note, i'm almost ready to start listing my goods over at etsy.com. i've been working on policies and shipping and what not. still a little tweeking with my shipping policies and i need to photo my completed goods to actually make the listings, but i do what i can between the boogerbear's demands. i also printed and doodled a big fat stack of business cards today. they're plain but cute. before the offical grand opening of my shop i hope to complete a few more personal touches. i wanted to do some tags and some cutsie packaging and maybe scrap a store banner and scan it in. maybe i have enough energy to do that tonight. maybe.

anywho, hope all is well. i think i'll go watch something mindless on television.

doin what i do.

i have officially joined the world of bloggers with custom titles. the blog was getting stale and i kept seeing people who had recent changes or a title i really liked in my daily reads, so i too did what was right and changed it up a bit. not sure how long this one will stick around, but i had a good time doing it. yay for a good time! next time i make one, i will scan it. yup. i will.

i'm finally getting serious about putting my ideas for around the house, well, on the house. i decided a while ago that our upstairs bath room (which came into our lives with the street walker red venetian plaster all over it) in black, white and shade of grey. anyone with any kind of color philosophy (and even some with out it) know that reds are impossible to match and i really didnt want this bathroom to look like a box of crayons barfed all over the place, so i took the easy way out with white linens (how generic) and a great grey textured shower curtain. and thus it remained for over two years. until the cow head was rebirthed and housed in the bathroom and now, a couple weeks later, the photo hanging has begun. my plan is all black and white photos framed in an assortment of black and/or white frames only. i like the collage so far. i have quite a few photos i still plan on framing, but ran out of frames for the moment. i think it makes the red a little more bearable. why dont i paint over it you ask? because i really like it. i'm just not up to the challenge of it over my blk & wht additions.

halloween is just around the corner you know?

very soon there will be pumpkin patches left and right. gords will be showing up at your local grocer. as i type there are already super cute halloween stuff all over the internet.

what started me on this halloween schpeal in the middle of august? well, i was looking for a lamp at pottery barn kids that i saw in the last issue of domino magazine (didnt find it there...) and i saw they already had theirhalloween costumes. they are absolutely adorable! but theyre EIGHTY BUCKS or more!!!! who buys a EIGHT DOLLAR HALLOWEEN COSTUME? really? nuts. BUT, the matching puffy treat bags are way cool. check out that oil can!

i think the boogerbear is going to be a babystyle dinosaur this year. its still a little pricey. i think i'm going to wait until october and see if they go on sale. last year i got the booger his costume from babystyle and it was made very well and should last children to come. BUT, i did wait for it to go on sale and got it for $15.

we shall see, but i can totally imagine the boy in that costume RAWRing at everyone. i might even have to make him a matching pail in the shape of a dinosaur egg or something...

tasty tuesday!

my new all consuming project is potty training one two year old boy. for the occassion i stocked up on traning pants and some super rad boxer briefs and lunder roos. i feel like these undies are really tasty!

to share some of my other paul frank finds...

a month or so ago i stopped into a baby style and found a really neat paul frank book, Only In Dreams
. it has excellent illustrations and a really imaginative "story". how can you go wrong with things like cupcake villages and rock concerts in outer space? you cant. its a very sweet bedtime story to read to a little one of any age.

another paul frank score would have to be the flashcards. i found these cartoon alphabet/animal themed cards at a local bakery (theFarm) and thought they were fitting for the 1st set of real flashcards we've attempted with tyler. i think they might turn into wall art or something. a little poster tape and they would make a great abc border for a bigger kid's room.

there is also another paul frank book, Julius!Wild West Bonanza, coming out in september. we, of course, have it preordered...

now for the other things i had to buy along with the underwear. hey! the boogerbear needs clothing for fall/winter....

i ate shellfish for dinner tonight

and now my burps taste and smell like shrimps. yes. shrimps. i wish there was more scallop in the taste. those were way better going down.

working on some layouts tonight while i watch a bit of star trek: TNG. i need to get some good natural light so i can photograph and post. i'm submitting to a few challenges this month, so i'm sure those will end up too.

anywho, i hope everyone had a swell weekend. this week looks to be keeping us busy. i have gymboree, some playdates, some crafting (sewing mostly i think), as well as a trip up to san francisco lined up. i just found out my favorite discount fabric warehouse in san francisco moved to a bigger and better location! that means better organization and MORE fabric!!!! i cant wait!
