i dyed my hair again last night. mostly because my scalp hurts from being bleach blond. so now i'm a boring sandy blond. actually, its as close as a box of hair dye can get to my natural hair color. BORING! i think, in a few weeks, it will be very dark brown or black again. i think black. i looked good with black.
oh, and i'm getting a hair cut tomorrow. a very traditional vidal sasson "bob" i'll post photos tomorrow evening.

VAPOR BUBBLES?!?!?
so yesterday i made the 22mile trek to our "local" whole foods in los gatos. got some yummies and load everything (including the boogerbear) into the car eager to get home. (it was like a billion degrees over there! ok, more like 100, but thats NUTS!!!) i turn the key. the car starts. the car dies. i turn the key again. the car starts. the car dies. i repeat this no less than 45times, try a couple of the FEW, MINOR auto tricks i have up my sleeve (like checking the oil, giving it a little gas, making sure i even have gas...) and then i make a panic'd phone call to the hubby. (like he's going to know ANYTHING about cars. he's one of those nerdy, computer types) his contribution to the ordeal is to immediately get in his car and head my way. (no a/c and a hot, hot potato baby makes mom a crazy lady) he's about 25minutes from me. next, i call my hero, AAA. they had a service truck there in less than 15minutes. the guy does the same thing i do (hey, at least there was some action going on) and says there isnt anything obviously wrong, it just wont idle.... um... ok.... thats pretty neccessary. so he gives me my options of: A) having it towed to my friendly, local for dealership (i drive a ford escape. apparently ford dealerships are the place for fords to go when they're broken...), B) have it towed to another desirable location of my choice (how about the nearest Subarooooo dealership so i can trade that badboy in for a brand spankin' new tribeca!?!?!?) C) give it time. let it cool off. and through magic have it start back up in a few hours. (he mentioned something about vapor and bubbles and i smiled pretty and nodded my head) D) i can just restart it everytime i come to a stop and take it back home myself. (first of all, i'm not that coordinated. second, there's a freaking silly curvy mountain between my current gps location and my home gps location. third, i'm not that coordinated!)
so we opted for A. meh. they called the tow truck about 3. the AAA man said the truck would be there within AN HOUR and i could just leave the keys with him and sign something off with me. so i did. it was hot. i want things to just work. dangit! so the hubby, boogerbear, and i head home in the hubby's reliable vehicle. yay! its a million degrees at home too. poop! so we kill time and wait for the car dealership or AAA to call us and confirm that my car is there. it was supposed to be picked up by 4 making its arrival at the dealership (considering traffic) at the latest 6ish. 6ish comes and goes and nothing. i call AAA to check up on things and apparently the tow truck hasnt picked up my car yet! GRRRRRRRRRR! i was so hoping to get it into the dealership and onto the service log for the next day. (this is a holiday weekend after all) well, the dealership closes at 7 so there's no way my wishes will be granted this day. around 8:30 i get a call from AAA saying my car reached the dealership. fartfaces!
today i wake up expecting my phone to ring. i wait. and wait. and wait. its 9am and i finally call the dealership. they're like "oh, yea. we saw that one." and i'm like "um. yea. ok. FIX IT!!!" and they're like "no problem. we'll have a service advisor call you as soon as someone looks at it" and i'm like "SWELL!" ok, its after 3pm. no service advisor yet. i call. i leave messages. i hate not having a car! around 4 someone calls me to tell me that they have "bad news" (the "oh crap! $1000+ on a car. poop!) but the bad news is more about them than the car. (breath a sigh of relief. blood pressure returns to normal) they're so swamped than no one is avaliable to even LOOK at the car. (steam shoots out my ears! it took them 6 hours to tell me that?!?!?!) so i tell the service technician about the vapor bubbles and ask him to try to start the car before its declared a lost cause. he was nice. he humored me and went to try it telling me he would call me right back. 10minutes later he calls and tells me he just took a lovely spin around the block in my car and i could come pick it up. YAY! oh, wait. whats wrong with it?!?! no idea. ok. it works. thats the point.
(actually i have to take it back on tuesday for recall work and they're going to snoop around while their in there... ok. just dont charge me!!!)
and i just burned carrots....

ok, i'm back. i think. i hope. i dont even know where to start. when did i even blog last???
from a frantic memory (today proablly isnt the best day for this,) here goes some highlights from the past couple months:
tyler started walking!!! and can say "crack-ah!" like, he carries around an empty box of crackers and says it. apparently that means he wants crackers. if he's just hungry he says "mamamamamamamama." i see where his loyalties are.
mom had a good visit. she's relatively sane as of late. her divorce is final. she's offically miss kaluza again. she's also back to teaching. it seems that this batch of kiddies are a little better. and she called me at 1am (my time, 3am her's) to tell me she had a party and made out with an old highschool boyfriend. the only thing i could ask was "is he married?" no, thank goodness. but she's a wild one. i wonder if i should give her a cerfew? make her call me? check in, ya know?
computers died. thus the neglect to my lovely blog and stress outlet. husband finally got them back up and running. well the desktop. my laptop is totally gone. but the hubby did get the data off it. yay hubby!
my "bestfriend" came for a visit. the same best friend that i was so mad at for not even thanking me for her bridal shower/bachelorette party and everything else i pulled together for her wedding. she's pregnant. its going well so far. i feel better about our relationship after her visit. i alluded to not enjoying the company of people who didnt appreciate my efforts and i think she kinda got it. i also made a deal with myself not to bend over backwards for her. i'm here for her, but im not laying all my effort and emotion out for her to take.
the dreaded BIL's girlfriend is banned from the family. i dont know if she gets it, but it sure is nice not dealing with her face to face. sounds mean, but i'm so beyond pretending on that front. oh yea, she didnt show up for the boogerbear's 1st bday party. thinking back on it, we're way glad they weren't there, but its um only RUDE! so thats what finally finished her in my book. so much for building strong family bonds huh? (i'm sure this will be something i elaborate on later)
i freaking hate the stupid depo shot! its making me nuts. any recommendations on a good, effective BC? please! i'm desperate! i've been on the shot a year and each month when i'm supposed to bleed (ew) i'm nuttier than squirrel poo... seriously. i have a well woman exam coming up in a week. i'm definately going to talk to my ob/gyn about it then. we're not ready for another baby, but i cant stand another hormone high beginging of the month!!!
the boogerbear and i are heading to houston for my mom's bday and a cousin's wedding in a couple weeks. im looking forward to the trip just not the traveling. any recommendations on a good, effective baby sedative??? please! i'm desperate!!!
i think thats the big things. i have a lovely story for today. so tyler is yet again battling his infamous diaper rash. its pretty bad today and i had to start using the steroid (poop) cream last night. (we had been using the diaper ointment by burt's bee's. that stuff worked wonders where nothing else would work at all. i highly recommend for the ultrasensitive baby butts) well, to continue the story, he pooped (for the 4th time today. ugh!) and i changed him. i had plans of drawing a cool bath for him so i put a diaper on him so i could get the bath ready. well, before i could pick him up off the couch (where i changed him, so luckily the area was well covered) a gusher of puke launched into the air. and down again. what do you know? gravity works... before i can get him out of it he rolls around in it a little. well, at that point i just picked him up and ran to the bathroom. on the way he puked (a lot) again on the wool run and toy box. i finally get him in the bathtub where he pukes a little more and finally starts to calm down. right about the time i was washing the puke out of his hair, i start puking. i have a really weak gag reflex. lame. oh well, all is well now. he's sleeping and i'm showered. now all i have to do is to figure out how to get the curtled milk smell out of the rug. ARGH!!!

a quickie before i can really return to the wide world of blogging!
the booger bear and i have a new favorite show! its called yo gabba gabba! the creators are SUPER RAD (aquabats reference for those of you out of the know) and the husband and i find it highly entertaining. i would say age range starts about one year old and lessons could be useful from the show starting around 18 months. the creators have good goals for their show and practical experience on how to achieve those goals.

i just spent 30 minutes on the phone with my mom...
talking about the TATTOO she's going to get when she's down here next week. this is the woman who practically disowned me after i got 3 TINY butterfly outlines when i was 21 that one normally cannot see! now i'm supposed to find her a shop i approve of and gather some artwork for her to show the artist.
i'm proud of her though. this summer she decided to divorce my step-dad (meh.) and now she wants a tattoo for, what i feel is, the right reason (for herself!). i also think its time for me to get a heart with mom in it. (how very sailor jerry of me.) it just feels right going in there together and doing that kind of thing. (um. hello white trash!!!)

anywho back to cleaning. i'll post photos of the downstairs later tonight. our bedroom hasnt been really cleaned since, um, we moved in... oops. but its clean now. i mean really clean.
{oh, and dont tell anyone about mom's tattoo. she wants to, um, keep it a secret.... shhh.... kekeke.}

are you flippin kidding me?!?!?
so, everything is going well with our nephew at our home. the newest info we have is that the detective couldnt label the injury as accidental so it advanced to the next level. dun, dun. DUUUN! so, that means his medical records and the detective's investigation was sent to a forensic dude to be examined. the forensic guy will examin the evidence and do 1 of 3 things:
1. label the case non-accidental
2. label the case accidental
3. determine the case unsovable
option 2 & 3 get our nephew back into his mother's loving arms. option 1 gets a further investigation of the "suspects" and clears those who are determined innocent.
by the sounds of it, this could take a day, or two, or ten... so our timeline of retaining custody is still a wee bit hazy. poop.
i'm loving having our nephew here, but i miss my son. the boogerbear is here, but i didnt realize just how much i really love spending time with him and just him. if nothing else, this has made me more than understand that i'm NOT ready for another baby. i need more boogerbear!
so the flipping kidding me part:
the mother involved is a bit on the firey side. infact, she has one red hot temper/personality! i dont know how to explain it, but that she has a thing against my BILs children. the story goes like this. since we've had custody of our nephew, we've been in control of "visitations." Visitations have basically consisted of us hanging out playing with the babies for LONG stretches of time. which is not what is mandated by the court, but has been ok'd through the kind folks at our local CPS office. its cool. its not our routine, but i'm more than happy to have both "sides" of the family in my home as long as it helps to ease the crap that is CPS. well, now the mother wants to tell me i cant have my other nephews (her boyfriend's, my BILs other children from a previous marriage) in my home because it "over stimulates" her son! WHAT?!?! did she just tell me i couldnt invite my family into my home? people who aren't even involved in the investigation?!?!?! wow. just wowowowowow! first of all, as a mother, i know the kind of people/children i want my child to be around. i have no problem with these kids. they're good kids! second, thats a load of horse manure if she thinks that when her son hangs out with his half siblings that he's over stimulated. he loves it. in fact, both of the boys do. its nuts i tell you. how on earth can someone be so unappreciative and disrespectful?! ugh. this woman. i shake my head at her and pray for the best. there are so many thoughts racing through my head about this one, but i cant even type it out.
anywho, enough. i talked to the BIL about it. the SIL about it (thanks KT!). i talked to the hubby about it. the drama is over... for now.
the boogerbear wants to play the steal the remote game so i had better get into my best defensive stance. here's to a good tomorrow!!!

just a quickie
ok, our nephew sustained a mysterious skull fracture while we were in san diego. we came home and the whole family is suspect of negligent treatment and abuse! there is a huge on going investigation and there are only two family options who are eligible to take temporary custody of him. the other option has to return to work, so ben and i are the only option now.
So far our experience with CPS has been productive. i'm actually suprised just how thankful even CPS is for family members who care/love their own and at how much emphasis they put on taking care of the CHILD. i've heard so many CPS horror stories that i thought our nephew would just disappear on his way here, but he didnt and everyone has been very accomodating in helping us help the child.
our nephew is here with us now. he did really well with us this evening. fairly happy. both his mommy and daddy came to see him tonight. this is REALLY putting a LOT of strain on an already strained relationship, but, epecially after seeing them with the boy tonight, i have a really hard time believing that this incident was more than a freak accident. who knows though, right?
there is a facilitating family meeting on thursday. here we will sit down with the parents, other family members, and CPS workers and talk about a game plan for short term and long term living situation/custody of our nephew. i dont really know what to expect from this. the mother's goal is to have her parents granted temporary custody of her son. there are some issues about the maternal grandparents being cleared of suspect in the investigation. that should be clarified at this meeting. the father isnt so sure that the maternal grandparents will be granted temporary custody... for reasons unknown to me. the parents cannot regain custody of their son until the next court hearing in AUGUST!!! (could you imagine?!?!? i would simply cease to exist!)
we're open to whatever is best for our nephew. in our home or else where. its hard enough to survive in this world, he doesnt need all the odds against him. i am so happy that we can provide him a stable home if even for only a few days.
this is a big thing, but its not. does that make sense? in reality, there was no other choice but for us to take him. the other option was for him to go into real foster care (to be honest, i really feel like i'm just babysitting. CPS, court ordered babysittin) and that doesnt sit well with me. bottomline, we love him like the boogerbear and i fully plan on being the best foster mommy i can be until his little world is right again!
ha. short. i need a shower!
